The Upper Hammonds Plains Community Land Trust continues to make major strides toward building long-term, community-led change. From officially launching the largest Black-led housing co-operative in Canada to participating in a global land justice exchange in Brazil, this season has been marked by growth, collaboration, and a deep commitment to affordable housing, land stewardship, and community resilience.

Construction on the co-op homes continues forward with exciting progress across the site. Foundations are now complete for most blocks, marking a major milestone in the project. Crews are currently installing insulated concrete form (ICF) walls, which help create strong, energyefficient buildings designed for long-term durability.

UHPCLT and UHPCDA were thrilled to spread holiday cheer through our annual Turkey Hamper Initiative and our first-ever Toy Drive, in partnership with High Powered Customs. Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers, donors, and community, we distributed 110 turkey dinners and toys for children and youth in Upper Hammonds Plains, ensuring everyone had a warm and festive holiday.
